How Troop 682 and its name came to be...

In August of 2018, a small group of girls eagerly wanted to begin their scouting journey.  With the support of some brave volunteers they began as an Explorer Club.  These young explorers decided they needed unit numbers.  With much consideration they came up with the idea to take all the numbers from the three Boy Scout troops in town and mix them up to create their own number that ultimately would link them to each boys' troop.  After many combinations, the girls cleverly created 682:  6 from troop 186,  8 from troop 880 and 2 from troop 62.

In addition the numbers are represented for the 6 original members who started in August (represents the 8) and launched officially as a Scouts BSA Troop in February (represents the 2).
